One of the main things I intend on teaching my daughter (not yet 3), is to consider the motivations of anyone who’s publishing anything. There’s always a reason for something to be out for the public to consume. Given the imbalance of recent headlines, it really really makes you wonder if mass journalism has just completely sold out. Which is a shame, since journalism CAN hold truth to power. The current incentives are just way off.
